1.6.2 Create user-defined PIN and lock the device
Requirement
The device is in the "S1" PROFIsafe commissioning state.
Procedure
1. Click on "Device > Extended Write Protection > Change stored PIN" in the menu bar.
2. Press the button "Enter new number for stored PIN".
The "Input" dialog box is opened.
3. Enter the desired PIN under "New Value".
4. Press the "OK" button.
The "Input" dialog box is closed.
5. Press the "Close" button.
6. Click on "Device > Extended Write Protection > Perform locking of the device".
7. Press the button "Perform locking of the device".
8. Press the "Close" button.

Before you commission the PROFIsafe device, configure it in Step7 – for example.
Process
Activate and parameterize PROFIsafe with SIMATIC PDM (Page 1-7)
Commission PROFIsafe with SIMATIC PDM (Page 1-8)
Check write protection with SIMATIC PDM (Page 1-10)
1.7.1 Activate and parameterize PROFIsafe with SIMATIC PDM
Procedure
1. Press the "Upload to PG/PC" button.
SIMATIC PDM reads in the parameters from the device.
2. Under ">> PROFIsafe", set the "PROFIsafe activation" parameter to "Yes".
3. Set the parameter "F_Dest_ADD" so that it is equal to the value in the HW Config.
