CLEANING THE IMAGE SENSOR
If you feel qualified to clean the image sensor, prepare the following tools:
Small Phillips-head screwdriver
Blower (Do not attach the brush, as it can scratch the image sensor surface.)

Remove the CF-card first. Otherwise the camera
cannot be set to cleaning mode.

Connect the AC adapter to the camera and plug
it into a wall socket. (Refer to page 22)

Turn the “D”–Dial to the OFF position and
remove the lens.

Use the Phillips-head screwdriver to loosen and
remove the screw securing the dust protector.
Do not loosen any of the other screws. (Be
careful not to let the removed screw fall into the
mirror box.)

Remove the dust protector by pulling on the lug
in the direction of the arrow as shown in the
illustration. (Be careful not to touch the glass on
the dust protector.)
