OPERATIONAL OVERVIEW
The following sections provide a high-level overview of how to setup, program, and operate the
Spectrum pump. For detailed instructions, refer to these sections:

Starting a New Infusion Using the Drug Error Prevention (DEP) Mode
1. Power on the pump.
2. Load the IV set.
3. Select your care area.
4. Select a drug.
5. Select a concentration.
6. Select primary or secondary bag.
7. Enter and OK all required values on the setup screen.
8. Push RUN/STOP to start the infusion.
9. Check and confirm proper flow.
Starting a New Infusion using the Basic Mode (for drugs not in the drug
library)
1. Select BASIC from the Care Area library.
2. Select primary or secondary bag.
3. Select a dose mode (default is mL/hr).
4. Enter and OK all required values on the setup screen.
5. Push RUN/STOP to start the infusion.
6. Check and confirm proper flow.
