OPERATING THE MACHINE
AB10ERJN Operation Manual 7-7 © Jul. 2022
The performance of the machine will be affected by the
battery capacity. When the platform display screen
indicates low battery capacity, the drive speed and lift
speed will be decreased.
To steer:
Depress the foot switch and meanwhile push forward
the drive/steer proportional control handle and press
the left/right button on top of the handle to steer left/
right.
To select drive speed:
1. The machine in non-operating position can run in
two drive speed modes (high/low speed).
2. In the process of driving, push the drive speed
select switch to select the desired drive speed.
TIPPING HAZARD
Drive the machine at low speed when
the machine is tilted.
The machine in operating position can only run at
operating speed, and pushing the drive speed select
switch will not switch to the high speed mode.
DRIVING ON A SLOPE
TIPPING HAZARD
Do not operate the machine on
any slope exceeding the
maximum slope rating (3°).
Do not drive the machine across
any slope exceeding the
maximum side slope rating (14°).
Do not drive the machine on any
slope exceeding the machine
gradeability.
Before driving on a slope:
1. Determine the gradeability (climbing ability) of the
machine.
GRADEABILITY:
Uphill: 35%/19°
Downhill: 20%/1
Sideslope: 25%/14°
2. Ensure the machine is in stowed position.
3. Ensure the slope grade is within the limits of the
machine gradeability.
NOTICE
Gradeability refers to the maximum permissible
percentage of the slope (or called slope grade as
below) when the machine is on solid ground with
sufficient traction and the platform is carrying only
one person. As the weight of the machine’s platform
increases, the machine’s gradeability will be reduced.
To determine the slope grade:
1. Prepare a carpenter’s level, a straight wooden
board (at least 1m [3.3ft] long) and a tape measure.
2. Measure the height (H) and length (L) of the slope.
Figure 7-5
3. Slope grade= H/L x 100%.
NOTICE
The machine must not run for over 2min on the
maximum permissible slope grade to prevent the
tires running suspended.
