3.7.4 FreeRange
This section is relevant only to houses with FreeRange ventilation.
Climate/ Ventilation/ FreeRange
In FreeRange houses where the birds have access to outside areas through pop-holes, ventilation can be
adjusted to FreeRange. When the pop-holes are open, the fans in the exhaust units are stopped, and the flaps are
opened. The house is ventilated by a natural air current that passes in through the holes and out through the
exhaust units.
Figure 2: FreeRange ventilation
When FreeRange is active, the temperature setpoint and the heat setpoint are adjusted with an offset in relation
to the general settings. If the inside temperature becomes too high or too low, DOL 53X will adjust with
ventilation or heat supply as normal. Alarm limits are also adapted.
