24.7 Gas supplies
The air and oxygen high pressure gas supplies are used as fresh gas.
24.7.1 Oxygen supply
The ventilator requires a supply of pure oxygen between 2.8 to 6 bar
(Please refer to section 24.7.3 for further details).
24.7.2 Air supply
The ventilator requires a supply of medical grade compressed air to ISO8573.1
Class 1.4.1 (minimum level of filtration) between 2.8 to 6 bar
(Please refer to section 24.7.3 for further details). Recommended level of filtration
is class 1.1.1.
Description of Class 1.4.1
1= particle size of 0.1 microns. 4 = Pressure dewpoint of +3ºC. 1= oil content
0.01Mg/m3
Description of Class 1.1.1
1= particle size of 0.1 microns. 1 = Pressure dewpoint of -70ºC. 1= oil content
0.01Mg/m3
If the compressed air supply is found to fall below the ISO8573.1 standard then
in-line filtration of the air is required.
24.7.3 Input pressures and ventilator performance
24.7.3.1 Operation from 3.3 to 6 bar
The ventilator is factory set to operate with input pressures of between 3.3 to 6
bar, this is to achieve the maximum HFO performance.
24.7.3.2 Operation from 2.8 to 3.2 bar
If the ventilator is to be used with input pressures of between 2.8 to 3.2 bar the
input pressure regulators need to be adjusted as per service manual instructions.
The user needs to be made aware that once adjusted the ventilators upper end
performance will be curtailed.
24.7.4 Flows
Fresh Gas Flow: 8 litres/minute
Maximum gas flow: 60 litres/minute
