To set the boom at its operating position:

Stand beneath the boom's strut slide. Locate the slide stop on the main beam and the two
captive thumbscrews. Have your assistant lower the boom slightly as you loosen the
captive thumbscrews. If the thumbscrews are too tight to move by hand, use a blade
screwdriver.

With the screws loosened, let the slide stop move until the other set of holes in the slide
stop aligns with the captive thumbscrews. As the slide stop moves close to the
thumbscrews, put slight pressure on the thumbscrews as you let the boom continue to
move. The thumbscrews will engage into the holes when the holes align with the screws.

Tighten the captive thumbscrews by hand.
