7 CLEANING AND ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
7.1 General precautions
DISCONNECTING THE POWER AND WATER SUPPLIES
Before working on the machine in any way: disconnect the power supply with the panel master
switch or by pulling out the power plug, and shut the water supply cocks.
CLEARANCE
You must provide clearance of at least 1m
2
in front of the machine for maintenance.
Work done on the machine by unauthorised persons is not covered by warranty and is at the client's
sole expense and responsibility.
When cleaning and servicing the machine: use appropriate individual safety equipment.
7.2 Description of maintenance and cleaning by the operator
7.2.1 At each use
1. Check the operation of the spray arms and check that the water outlet holes are clean by eye.
2. Check the detergent and rinse aid levels (if peristaltic pumps are installed).
3. At the end of the working day, clean the filters as described below.
7.2.2 Monthly check
1. Check the condition of the water supply solenoid valve filters: clean them, if necessary, by running hot
water through them in the opposite direction.
2. Check the condition of the intake hoses and tank filters (as applicable).
7.2.3 Once a year
At the end of the warranty period and every year thereafter and whenever message A 93 displays, contact
your Smeg authorised service centre for a complete check-up.
Maintenance work not covered by the warranty, which does not cover replacement of parts subject
to normal wear and tear.
7.3 CLEANING THE APPLIANCE and its parts
General cleaning
Clean the outer surfaces and door-lining of the dishwasher regularly using a soft, damp cloth or with a normal
detergent suitable for painted surfaces.
Clean the door gaskets with a damp sponge.
After cleaning: run a wash cycle without a load to eliminate any detergent residue.
