Why is sound transmission not established on my Sony STR-DH700 Receiver?
    • A
      anunezSep 10, 2025
If you are experiencing sound transmission issues with your Sony Receiver, and you are using another S-AIR main unit, ensure it is more than 8 meters away. Confirm the IDs of the S-AIR main unit and sub unit. If you paired the S-AIR main unit with another S-AIR sub unit, perform pairing with the desired S-AIR sub unit. If the S-AIR main unit is pairing with another S-AIR sub unit, cancel the pairing. Install the S-AIR main unit and sub unit away from other wireless products. Stop using other wireless products. Ensure the S-AIR sub unit is turned on and connected to the AC power cord.

      hallsabrinaSep 8, 2025
If no sound is output from the receiver and TV speaker while using the System Audio Control function on your Sony Receiver, ensure that the TV is compatible with the System Audio Control function. If the TV lacks this function, adjust the “AUDIO FOR HDMI” settings in the HDMI menu: choose “TV+AMP” to listen through both TV speakers and the receiver, or “AMP” to listen only through the receiver. If you can't hear a component connected to the receiver, select the appropriate input on the receiver, change the TV channel for TV broadcasts, or select the correct component/input on the TV, referring to the TV's operating instructions.

If there's no sound from one of the front speakers on your Sony Receiver, connect headphones to the PHONES jack to check if sound is output. If only one channel outputs through the headphones, ensure all cords are fully inserted into the jacks on both the receiver and the component. If both channels output through the headphones, check the connection of the front speaker that isn't producing sound. Also, when using an analog component, make sure you are connected to both the L and R jacks, not just one; use an audio cord.
