Connecting a computer display
You can connect a computer display either directly to your computer or via a docking station.
To connect a computer display, proceed as follows:
1 If you want to connect a VGA monitor, plug the display cable (1) (not
supplied) into the monitor/VGA connector (2) on the notebook or on the
docking station.
2 If you want to connect a TFT/DVI* monitor, plug the display cable (not
supplied) into the DVI-D connector on the docking station.
3 If necessary, plug one end of the display’s power
cord (3) into the display, and the other end into an AC outlet.
* Depending on your model. Read the printed Specifications sheet for more information.
DVI-D stands for Digital Visual Interface - Digital. It is a 24-pin DVI connector supporting digital video signals only.
A DVI-I connector (Digital Visual Interface - Integrated) supports digital video and analogue video signals. It has 29 pins.
! You can not connect a DVI-I to VGA cable to a DVI-D connector.
