3.14 Signal Cables
For devices with a remote mount design, the transmitter and sensor are connected using a signal cable.
The signal cable used must meet at least the following technical specification.
Cable specification
Impedance 70 to 120 Ω
Withstand voltage 500 V
Outer diameter 6 to 12 mm (0.24 to 0.47")
Cable design 3 × 2 × 0.75 mm², twisted pair.
Conductor cross-section 0.75 mm²
Shield Copper braid with approximately 85% coverage.
Temperature range Application-dependent.
Maximum signal cable length 30 m (98 ft)
