Network connection
Car Thing has a built-in 4G/LTE network. This means it will
automatically connect to the internet when network coverage
is available.
Limited network connection
If Car Thing can’t find a network connection try the following:
● Move to another location to get a better network
signal. Car Thing will connect automatically when it
detects a better signal.
● Restart Car Thing.
○ Go to Restart for more information about how
to do this.
● Update Car Thing if there’s an update available.
○ Go to Updates for more information on how to
do this.
Smart caching
With smart caching, your music and podcasts can keep
playing for a while even when you have limited network
connection. Music and podcasts that you have listened to
recently are available for you to listen to. But you can’t ask for
or play music or podcasts that you haven’t listened to on the
device recently.
The device also fetches a few songs ahead of what is
currently playing. This means less risk of streaming
interruptions due to short periods of limited network
connection such as when you drive through a tunnel.
