Symbol S7 ashes, symbol S2 is displayed.
 Remove the drip tray with the used coee grounds container
(gures 1/N and Q) and empty both.
 Re-insert the drip tray and the used coee grounds container.
 Symbol S1
is displayed, while symbol S7 continues to
ash. Remove the water tank (Fig. 3).
 Remove the lter if one is tted (Fig. 5).
Fill the water tank to the 0.5 litre mark with fresh water.
 Re-insert the water tank.
Symbol S12
is displayed.
 Only then add descaling agent to water (never vice versa! Please
follow the manufacturer’s instructions for use of the descaler).
 Place a suciently large bowl (about 0.5 litres) under the steam/
hot water spout/frothing device.
 Turn the steam/hot water control (Fig. 1/C) clockwise.
The descaling programme starts. Symbol S7
ashes. The descaling
process is automatic and will run for about 10 minutes. As soon as the
rst part of the programme has nished, symbol S12
is displayed
and symbol S7
ashes.
 Turn the steam/hot water control (Fig. 1/C) anti-clockwise.
The descaling programme starts again and the descaler runs into the
drip tray. Symbol S7
ashes. The descaling process is automatic
and will again run for about 10 minutes. Once the process has nished,
symbol S2
is displayed and symbol S7 ashes.
 Remove the drip tray with the used coee grounds container
(gures 1/N and Q). Empty and clean both.
 Re-insert the drip tray and used coee grounds container.
Symbol S1
is displayed.
 Remove the water tank and rinse it with fresh water.
 Re-insert the lter if required.
 Fill the water tank with fresh water.
 Re-insert the water tank.
Symbol S12
is displayed.
 Again place a suciently large bowl (about 0.5 litres) under the
steam/hot water spout/frothing device.
 Turn the steam/hot water control (Fig. 1/C) clockwise.
The rinsing process starts through the steam/hot water spout/frothing
device.
 Once the process has nished, symbol S7
ashes and symbol
S12
is displayed.
 Turn the steam/hot water control (Fig. 1/C) anti-clockwise.
The internal rinsing programme starts and will take about one minute,
followed by a brief rinsing of the coee spout. The symbol S7
ashes and symbol S2
is displayed.
