System Construction
The RAB system is comprised of a Control Module (RAB CM), four (4) Sonar Sensors, four (4)
Sensor Holders/Bezels, and a Sensor Harness.

RAB System Overview Sonar Sensor Mounting
Each sensor functions as a speaker and microphone that transmits and receives ultrasonic
sound waves. As these waves reflect off objects in the projected area, integrated circuits (IC) in
each sensor calculate the distance between the obstacle and the vehicle. The results of these
calculations are sent to the RAB CM to determine the correct level of driver warning and/or
intervention.
Note: On some models, the Sonar Sensors are painted to match the body color. In
those instances, replacement sensors are ordered pre-painted to match the
vehicle.
