• Measure accurately the AC grid side frequency. The measured data should not exceed
the grid permissible frequency range of the PCS.
• Measure the voltage THD of each phase if necessary. PCS may not operate if the THD is
serious.
• Record accurately all measured data.
7.3 Preparation before Starting
Prepare for starting the PCS when the above mentioned items are checked and meet
requirements:
• Put the disassembled protection covers back and make sure the connection is secure.
• Close and lock the cabinet front door. Store the key by appointed person.
• Clean the device site. Make sure the field is clean without any flammable or explosive
materials.
• Make sure the ventilation of the device installation place is normal.
• Check again and ensure the switches and buttons of the PCS and upstream and down-
stream devices meet the requirement and work normally.
7.4 Starting PCS
If all tests and measurements have been performed, and all measured data lie within the
permissible range, the device can be switched on for the first time. Proceed as follows to
start the PCS:
step 1 Disconnect the switches of the front and rear devices of the PCS, and close the internal
power switch Q3 or the external power switch Q2 according to actual on-site conditions. In
the case of the internal power supply, Q3 and Q1 are closed and Q2 is disconnected by de-
fault, as shown in the figure below. Ensure that the knob switch on the door is in the start
position.
step 2 Confirm that the AC and DC side cables are well connected, and then close the switches of
the front and rear devices of the PCS.
step 3 Measure the voltage of the to-be-connected battery to ensure that it falls within the allowable
range.
