5.4.4 Drill Mast Installation
①Release the fixing pin between the top mast and the middle mast (This pin should be used to
fix the folding upper mast with the main mast together while in transport), extend the upper
mast with its cathead keeping a line with the main mast, then fasten tightly with bolts.
② Dismantle the rear transportation frame between the cathead and the upper mast, hoist the
cathead with a rope connecting to other crane equipment till the pin shafts and bolts are fixed.
③Extend the wirerope of the main winch to the length which is able to hoist the Kelly bar.
④Dismantle the front transportation frame between the drill mast and the main mast.
⑤Stretch out the boom cylinder according to the instructions of the "Control" Chapter, lift the
boom, then extend the drill mast luffing cylinder till the drill mast erects slowly, and connect
the main drill mast and down mast firmly.
★Warning: During the erecting process, don't touch the ground with the down drill mast; Drill
mast erects, stop the luffing movements when the contacting surfaces of the main drill mast and
down drill mast touch together, otherwise the parts will be damaged, pull down the draw bar
between the mast and the triangle frame after installing the connecting bolts on both two sides
of the drill mast.
⑥ Disassemble the pin shaft from the down drill mast to separate the draw bar.
⑦ Fix the terminal of the wirerope of the down drill mast with a chuck according to the
instructions of the Chapter " Control", then tensioning the wirerope appropriately.
⑧ The self-disassemble of the drill mast is just the opposite procedures with above ones.

A helper is required during mast assembly/disassembly.

Use proper length of wire rope during the mast assembly/disassembly process. No wire rope
overlapping is permitted in the main/auxiliary winches.
5.4.5 Rotary Head Installation
① Fix the front transportation frame between the drill mast 1 and the drill mast 2, make sure
that both fixing pins of the upper carriage and the undercarriage have been plugged, and the
supporting rod has been installed.
② Hoist the rotary head slowly and adjust its position to make the slide rail bracket on the
sliding frame of the rotary head aim at the guide of the drill mast 1.
③ Lower the rotary head slowly to enable the guide of drill mast 1 is plugged into the sliding
