2.3.6 Luffing System and Drill Mast
The luffing system is composed of arms, tripod, link rod and luffing cylinders (Fig 2-12).
Luffing uses two-grade cylinders, boom luffing cylinder controls the angle of arms, the
mast tilting cylinders adjusts mast verticality. The mast can tilt 4 degree left/right; 4 degree
forward.
The box type drill mast is composed of four sections, each section is fit with slide rail.
Rotary head and servo frame moves up and down in slide rail. The upper cathead section and
the lower drill mast section can be automatically folded /unfolded, It can complete
self-load/unload by its own power and structure without crane, for example, lower section drill
mast can finish self-loading and unloading in mast vertical mode （see fig 2-13 ）. Pulley is
mounted in the upper cathead, and steel rope of main/ Auxiliary winch passes through the
pulley.

Auxiliary outrigger cylinder is installed on the lower mast, on which the pile casing can be
placed. The installation method is as below:
Extend or retract the auxiliary outrigger to parallel with the drilling tools bottom. As shown in
FIG. 2-14, press on two ends of the casing, operate the lower pressed end of the outrigger cylinder
and lower the main winch to press the other end with the weight of drilling tools, in this way, it’s
easy to position the pile casing. Comparing with the only use of drilling tool, it saves lots of time
in placing pile casing, and improves construction efficiency and quality. Besides, track
