Removal
1. Remove recoil s tarter assembly. Re move fly -
wheel nut. Insert a bar through slots in starter
pulley to prevent flywheel from rotating. (See
Figure 3-32.)

2. Remove three bolts securing starter pulley to
flywheel. Removal w ill be much easier if a bar
is
inser ted t hrough the slots in the starter
pulley to prevent the pulley from rotating.

3. Bolt the f lyw heel pull er '(special tool No.
T56019 -0 1) to the flywhe el with the three fly-
whe el puller bolts (No . 11 OG0630). The starter
pull ey and fan drive pulley are still in position
under the
fl ywheel pull er . Pull the flywheel
and remove the puller, s tarter pulley and fan
drive
pulley. (See Figure 3-33.) Examine fly -
wheel keyway for damage.
4. Disconnect the red and
wh ite coil wire con-
nectors and remove
the br own and yellow
(lighti ng coil) w ires from the engine plug. Be
sure to mark the grey pl astic connecto r so the
li ghting coil w ires will be reinsta lled properly.
