APR/2017 TECHNICAL OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE GUIDE | NEXUS STATION
Door actuator and motor
The door actuator controls movement of the security door with the help of a motor that is attached to a
motor mount and plate. It is located at the front of the station, just below the front turnstile position.

Slide-gate assembly and motor arm
The slide gate assembly is controlled by the motor arm, which moves the slide gate to allow carriers to enter
and leave the turnstile in the station. It includes a motor that controls the movement of the arm that opens
and closes the slide gate. The rotary air-valve assembly sits atop the slide-gate assembly. Most of the parts
are made of durable metals that are not expected to require replacement under normal use.
The slide-gate assembly is attached to the top of the turnstile assembly at the top of the station, just
beneath the entry and exit pipe. The full assembly is housed within a rectangular air manifold that must be
removed for maintenance
