NEXUS STATION | TECHNICAL OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE GUIDE APR/2017
93 INSTRUCTIONS FOR TROUBLESHOOTING COMMON COMPONENT ERRORS | STATION ERRORS
Designated carrier position occupied
The “carrier position occupied” usually indicates that the turnstile is out of sync with the system and requires a restart-
ing of the station and possibly recalibrating the turnstile. Completing the steps in the next procedure generally clears
the error.
Carrier not sighted above station
This error suggests that a carrier expected to arrive at the station has not been delivered and is likely lost in the system.
Station errors
Carrier and sensor errors often result from problems with the sensors, located at the front-load position,
back arrival position, and outside the brake actuator. These errors do not involve moving parts

Action | component Details | expected condition | next steps
1 Remove all carriers from the station, and restart
the station at the power switch.
Station restarts, and inventory shows all turnstile positions
are shown as empty and ready for a carrier.
If all turnstile positions are “ready,” send a carrier to
verify that the station is operational.
If all turnstile positions do not show “ready,” go to the
next step.
2 Set the turnstile index (“commission the sta-
tion”). See Commission the station at the Nexus
panel in the Maintenance chapter of this Guide.
Station runs an inventory, and all turnstile positions are
shown on the Status menu as “Ready.”
