What to do if the LED on my TED Timer RDU is flashing red?
    • A
      adam35Aug 18, 2025
If the RDU LED is flashing red instead of green, it means you've exceeded an alarm parameter. To resolve this, try turning off some appliances, adjusting your energy usage habits, or modifying your alarm settings.

Why is my TED 1001 Timer RDU displaying an incorrect KW value?
    • G
      Gloria JohnsonAug 21, 2025
If the KW value displayed on your TED Timer RDU doesn't seem correct, or doesn't change when you turn on an electrical load, the current transformers may be installed incorrectly. Ensure that both CT's have their red polarity dots facing in the same direction and that the jaws on the CT’s are firmly closed together. Also, ensure that the house code set in the RDU matches that set in the MTU, because you might be reading your neighbor’s energy use.

Why is the LED on my TED 1001 RDU flashing yellow?
    • G
      George MartinezAug 23, 2025
If the LED on the RDU is flashing yellow instead of green, it indicates that you have entered peak/off-peak rates or a demand penalty. Try turning off lights and electrical appliances.

What to do if my TED 1001 suddenly stopped working?
    • Z
      zachary85Aug 26, 2025
If your TED Timer was working fine and then stopped, it might have locked up due to spikes on the electrical line. Unplug the RDU, wait for 15 seconds, and plug it back in. If the MTU locks up, turn off the circuit, wait for 15 seconds, and turn it back on.

Why does my TED Timer KWh usage match my bill, but the dollar amount doesn't?
    • W
      wilsonkevinAug 28, 2025
If the KWh use matched your bill but the dollar amount didn't, it means the rate setup in your TED Timer is incorrect. Make sure that TED is programmed correctly. If you are not sure, send an e-mail with a copy of your utility bill, or the name and address of the utility and the rate code in effect to the support. They will send you the correct setup parameters to use.

Why doesn't my TED 1001 KWh usage match my bill?
    • N
      Nichole HahnAug 31, 2025
If your KWh usage doesn't match your bill, it could be due to incorrect installation or a poor communication link. Ensure that the MTU and CTs are installed correctly and that the communication is operating correctly.

What to do if the MTU Green LED on my TED 1001 is not flashing?
    • N
      natalie72Sep 2, 2025
If the MTU green LED isn't flashing once per second, check the following: 1. Ensure the circuit breaker is turned on. 2. Check all connections for any looseness or poor contact. 3. Use a voltmeter to check the voltage between the black and white conductors; the acceptable range is 100-130 Volts.

Why is my TED Timer RDU displaying all zeros?
    • B
      Bruce WilsonSep 5, 2025
If the RDU is displaying all zeros for the dollar value, it could be because the display is set to '$' but the rate setup isn't complete. Make sure that the RDU is set to display KW instead of '$' by toggling the '$' key and complete the rate setup procedure.

Why is my TED 1001 Timer RDU KW value correct, but the dollar display shows zeros?
    • D
      David EllisSep 7, 2025
If the RDU is displaying a correct value for KW, but the dollar display is all zeros, it indicates that the rate setup is not complete. Complete the utility rate setup.

What to do if the green LED on my TED Timer RDU is not flashing?
    • D
      Deanna MillerSep 10, 2025
If the RDU green LED is not flashing, first check the MTU. If the MTU LED is not flashing, that's the primary issue. Also, ensure the house code set in the RDU matches the MTU. Verify that the MTU is connected to the same phase as the RDU. Unplug any plug strips with surge suppression capacitors.
