Performance Tests (MSO/DPO5000 Series)
Performance T
ests (MSO/DPO5000 Series)
This section
contains a collection of m anual procedures for checking that the
instrument performs as warranted. They check all the characteristics that are
designated as checked in Specifications. (The characteristics that are checked
appear with a
in Specifications).
Prerequisites
The tests in this section comprise an extensive, v alid confirmation of perf ormance
and functionality when the following requirements are met:
The cabinet must be installed on the instrument.
You must have performed and passed the procedures under Self Test.(See
page 4-26, Self Test.)
A signal-path compensation must have been done within the recommended
calibration interval and at a temperature within ±5 ºC (±9 ºF) of the present
operating temperature. (If at the time you did the prerequisite Self Test, the
temperature was within the limits just stated, consider this prerequisite met).
Asign
al-path compensation must have been done at an ambient humidity
within 25% of the current ambient humidity and after having been at that
humidity for at least 4 hours.
The instrument must have been last adjusted at an a mbient temperature
between +18 ºC (+64 ºF) and +28 ºC (+82 ºF), m ust have been operating for a
warm-up period of at least 20 minutes, and must be operating at an ambient
temperature as listed in the specifications. (See Table 2-10 on page 2-17.)
(The warm-up requirement is usually met in the course of meeting the Self
Te
st prerequisites listed above).
Support sens or, probe, and adapter setups to avoid stress or torque when
c
onnected to the device under test (DUT).
