Overview

The Teletek Electronics LCD64 is a keypad designed for use with the CA62 control panel, providing comprehensive control and status indication for the security system. It features an LCD display and LED indicators to visualize system events and statuses, along with a sounder for various audible alerts. The keypad supports both English and Bulgarian languages.

Function Description

The LCD64 keypad serves as the primary interface for arming and disarming the security system, managing user codes, and reviewing system events. It allows users to control up to two partitions (A and B) independently or simultaneously. The keypad provides visual feedback through its blue backlit LCD display and LED indicators, which show the status of partitions, zones, and system troubles. Audible alerts from the built-in sounder provide additional notifications for various events, including entry/exit delays, alarms, and technical troubles.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Display: Blue backlit LCD display for clear visibility of system information.
  • LED Indicators: Dedicated LEDs for "READY" (green), "ARM" (red), and "TRBL" (yellow) to indicate system status at a glance.
  • Sounder: Built-in sounder with 7 distinct sound combinations for different notifications.
  • Partitions: Supports control of two independent partitions (A and B).
  • Zones: Displays status for up to 12 zones.
  • Power Supply: Operates on 220 VAC (power supply status indicated).
  • Battery: Monitors battery charge level (low battery indicated).
  • Communication: Indicates communication status and telephone line presence.
  • Tamper: Detects active tamper within the system.
  • Event Log: Stores up to 256 events in memory, accessible for review.
  • User Codes: Supports multiple user codes for different access levels.
  • Manager Codes: Allows for manager-level programming and control.
  • Proximity Cards: Supports adding and deleting proximity cards for arming/disarming.
  • UDL Access Block: Prevents unauthorized UDL communication after multiple failed attempts.
  • Language Support: English and Bulgarian.

Usage Features

The LCD64 keypad offers a wide range of usage features to manage the security system effectively:

  • Arming Modes:
    • Full ARM: All zones are secured. Entry into an entrance zone requires a valid code, otherwise an alarm is generated after the entrance time expires. Multiple arming variants are available, including quick arming without a user code and programmed modes.
    • Stay ARM: Allows users to stay in certain bypassed zones after arming the system, while the entrance zone remains secured. Similar to Full ARM, entry into an entrance zone requires a valid code.
    • Instant ARM: Similar to Stay ARM, but the entrance zone is secured immediately, generating an alarm upon intrusion.
    • Arming Partition B: Dedicated button for arming Partition B.
    • Arming Both Partitions A and B: Simultaneous arming of both partitions.
  • Disarming: Disarming of Partition A, Partition B, or both partitions requires a valid personal code.
  • Stopping the Alarm: An alarm can be stopped by entering a valid personal code.
  • Panic Buttons: Dedicated panic buttons (1+3, 4+6, 7+9) send alarm signals to the control panel when pressed and held for 2 seconds. These include Panic, Medical, and Fire alarms.
  • Ambush Code: A personal code that disarms the system but also sends a silent alarm signal to a central monitoring station. The last number of the code is replaced by 0 in the ambush code.
  • User Programming Menu: Allows users to change their personal code, review memory events, and enable/disable chime mode.
  • Zone Bypassing: Users can bypass specific zones using their personal code, either individually or in groups.
  • Manager Programming Menu: Provides advanced programming options for managers, including changing user rights for remote access, enabling/disabling engineer access, sending "Comm. Manual test" messages, and managing UDL access blocks.
  • Changing User Codes and Rights: Managers can change user codes and assign specific user rights, such as disarm, arm, bypass, programming, and working with partitions A and B.
  • Changing Manager Codes and Rights: Managers can also change their own codes and rights.
  • Chime Enable/Disable: Users and managers can enable or disable the chime mode for audible notifications.
  • Zone Bypassing by Manager: Managers can bypass zones using their personal code, similar to users, but with broader control.
  • Setting the Clock and Date: Managers can set the system's clock (HH:MM) and date (DD:MM).
  • Adding and Deleting Proximity Cards: Managers can add or delete proximity cards for users (01-20) or manager addresses (2x).

Maintenance Features

The LCD64 keypad provides several features to assist with system maintenance and troubleshooting:

  • Technical Trouble Review: The keypad indicates technical troubles with a blinking wrench icon. Users can review a list of up to 6 technical troubles, including:
    • No 220 V power supply
    • Battery charge level is low
    • Fuse blown
    • No telephone line
    • No communication available
    • Active TAMPER within the system
  • Memory LOG Review: Users and managers can review the memory event log to see previous and following events, including the date, time, event code, and zone/user information. This helps in diagnosing system issues and tracking activity.
  • UDL Access Block: This feature helps prevent unauthorized access to the system via UDL communication. If there are too many failed attempts (10 by default) to enter a valid access code for UDL (ARM/DISARM/BYPASS/PC ID) within a 24-hour period, the system will block UDL communication until 00:00h system time.
  • Engineer Access: Managers can enable or disable engineer access to the programming menu, which is crucial for system installation and advanced configuration by qualified technicians.
  • "Comm. Manual test" Message: Managers can send a "Communication Manual Test" message to a central monitoring station or test message to the voice dialer VD60, allowing for verification of communication with the control panel.
  • Warnings and Disclaimer: The manual includes important warnings regarding the use of the keypad, such as not attempting to disassemble or alter any part of the equipment, avoiding contact with certain substances (alcohol, benzene, thinners), and ensuring the equipment is not waterproof. It also states that the manufacturer reserves the right to change specifications without notice and disclaims liability for errors or omissions in the manual.

The LCD64 keypad is designed for ease of use and comprehensive control, making it an integral part of the Teletek Electronics CA62 security system.
