6.2 Towing / Retrieving
In the event that the PT-100G needs to be
towed or retrieved, it will not roll freely.
You must perform the following procedure
in order to pull it to safety.
1. Locate the drive motors in the
undercarriages and thoroughly clean
them to prevent dirt or debris from
entering the planetary drive.
2. Drain the oil from the planetary
assembly by removing the drain
plug. Allow the oil to drain into a
suitable catch container. Dispose of
old oil according to local mandates.
3. Using a suitable snap ring pliers
remove the snap ring from the
housing (fig. 6.2-1).
4. Remove the center plug, then using
a suitable slide hammer and
adapter, remove the housing cover
(fig. 6.2-2, 6.2-3).
5. Remove the o-ring and planetary
carrier from the housing (fig. 6.2-4).
6. Repeat this procedure on the other
drive motor to ready it for towing.
7. Carefully pull the machine to safety.
Remove wheel chocks prior to
towing.
Reverse this procedure to return the
machine to normal operating status.

Make sure the engine is off and the
key has been removed from the
machine to avoid accidental start.
Use wheel chocks at the ends of each
undercarriage to prevent the machine
from rolling.
Wear appropriate PPE (see section 2.6).
Use only chains rated for pulling a
machine of this size and weight.
Attach these chains to at least two of
the D-rings in the front or rear of the
machine.
