Your new outboard motor and lower unit
require break-in for the moving compo-
nents according to the conditions
described in the following timetable.
ENOW00024-1
Do not operate the outboard motor in
closed area or area with not enough ventila-
tion.
Exhaust gas emitted by the outboard motor
contains carbon monoxide that may cause
dizziness, nausea, other health problem or
even death if inhaled continuously.
During operation of the outboard motor:
z Keep peripheral area well ventilated.
z Always stay on the windward side of emis-
sion.

Operating the outboard motor without
break-in can shorten life of the product.
If any abnormality is experienced during the
break-in:
z Discontinue the operation immediately.
z Have the dealer check the product and
take proper action(s) if necessary.

Note
z During Break-in, run the outboard
motor at varied RPM less than specified
engine speed. Not following the proce-
dure may result in problems and may
shorten the product life.
z Break-in must be conducted under
load in the water in-gear with propeller
installed.
