Anode replacement
A sacrificial anode protects the outboard motor from galvanic corrosion. Anode is
located on the gear case, cylinder etc.. When the anode is eroded more than 1/3 of
original size, replace it.

Notes
z Never grease or paint the anode.
z At each inspection, re-tighten all the anode attaching bolts. Those bolts may loosen if the
anodes are corroded.
