Note:Earlyuniversalgroomersused2compressionspringsonnon-adjustable
heightadjustmentrods.Retrottingtheassembliesoneachsideofthecutting
unitwithnewcompressionsprings,heightadjustmentrods,andaddingange
nutstoenablespringadjustmentisrecommended(Figure12).
DisassemblingtheHeightAdjusterAssembly
1.Parkthemachineonacleanandlevelsurface,lowerthecuttingunits
completelytotheground,settheparkingbrake,andremovethekeyfromthe
keyswitch.
2.Removethecotterpinsandclevispinsthatsecuretheheightadjustment
rodstothegroomergearboxandidlerarm.Discardthecotterpins.
3.Loosenthe2heightadjustmentbolts(item15inFigure12)and2locknuts.
4.Removetheangenut(item4inFigure12)andcarriageboltthatsecurethe
heightadjusterassemblytothecuttingunitsideplate,andremovethefront
rollerandheightadjusterfromthecuttingunit.
5.Disassembletheheightadjusterassembly(Figure12).
6.Cleanallthecomponentsandinspectforwearordamage.Replaceallthe
componentsthatarewornordamaged.
