Note:Primethefuelsystemwheneveranyofthefollowing
occurs:
•Youdrainedwaterfromthefuellter.
•Youreplacedthefuellter.
•Yourantheengineuntilthefueltankisemptyordrained
thefueltank.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,stoptheengine,
andremovetheignitionkey.
2.Openthefronthood.
3.Ensurethattheengineandtheexhaustsystemarecool.
4.Ensurethatthefueltankisatleast1/4full.
5.Rotatethebattery-disconnectswitchclockwisetothe
Onposition.
6.Locatetheprimingbuttononthetopofthelter
adapterfortheprimaryfuellter(Figure128).

7.Pressdownandreleasetheprimingbuttonrepeatedly
untilyoufeelresistancewhenpressingthepriming
button(Figure128).

ReplacingtheFuelFilters
ServiceInterval:Every250hours—Replacetheprimary
andsecondaryfuellters.
ReplacingthePrimaryFuelFilter
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,stoptheengine,
andremovetheignitionkey.
2.Openthefronthood;refertoOpeningtheFront
Hood(page81).
3.Placecleanragsundertheprimaryfuellter(Figure
128).
4.Loosenthehoseclampsandseparatetheprimaryfuel
lterfromthefuelhoses(Figure128).
Note:Donotremovethehoseclampsfromthehoses.
Note:Discardthefuellter.
5.Alignthenewprimaryfuelltertothehoseswiththe
arrowprintedonthelterpointingforward.
6.Slipthehosesoverthehosettingoftheprimaryfuel
lter,andtightenthehoseclamps(Figure128).
7.Replacethesecondaryfuellter;refertoReplacingthe
SecondaryFuelFilter(page92).
