(red)cabletothepositive(+)batterypost(Figure29).
Slidetherubbercoveroverthebatterypost.
4.Usingtheboltandwingnut,connectthenegative
(black)cabletothenegative(–)batterypost
(Figure29).Slidetherubbercoveroverthebattery
post.

2.Removethellercaps.Iftheelectrolyteisnotup

Thebesttimetoadddistilledwatertothebatteryisjust
beforeyouoperatethemachine.Thisletsthewatermix
thoroughlywiththeelectrolytesolution.
1.Cleanthetopofthebatterywithapapertowel.
2.Removethellercaps(Figure30).
3.Slowlypourdistilledwaterintoeachbatterycell
untilthelevelisuptothelowerpartofthetube
(Figure30).
Important:Donotoverllthebattery.
Electrolyte(sulfuricacid)canseverelycorrode
anddamagethechassis.
4.Replacethellercaps.
