Note:Notethatthreadlockingadhesivehas
beenappliedtolockthespacernutstotheaxle.
Removetheaxle(withtheotherspacernutstill
assembledtoit)fromthewheelassembly.
6.Pryouttheseals,andinspectthebearingsfor
wearordamageandreplaceifnecessary.
7.Packthebearingswithageneral-purpose
grease.
8.Insert1bearingand1newsealintothewheel.
Note:Thesealsmustbereplaced.
9.Iftheaxleassemblyhashadbothspacernuts
removed(orbrokenloose),applyathread
lockingadhesiveto1spacernutandthread
itontotheaxlewiththewrenchatsfacing
outward.
Note:Donotthreadthespacernutallof
thewayontotheendoftheaxle.Leave
approximately3mm(1/8inch)fromtheouter
surfaceofthespacernuttotheendoftheaxle
insidethenut.
10.Inserttheassemblednutandaxleintothewheel
onthesideofthewheelwiththenewsealand
bearing.
11.Withtheopenendofthewheelfacingup,ll
theareainsidethewheelaroundtheaxlefullof
general-purposegrease.
12.Insertthesecondbearingandnewsealintothe
wheel.
13.Applyathreadlockingadhesivetothesecond
spacernutandthreaditontotheaxlewiththe
wrenchatsfacingoutward.
14.Torquethenutto8-9N-m(75-80in-lb),loosen,
thenre-torqueto2-3N-m(20-25in-lb).
Note:Makesurethattheaxledoesnotextend
beyondeithernut.
15.Installthesealguardsoverthewheelhuband
insertthewheelintothecasterfork.Installthe
casterboltandtightenthenutfully.
Important:Topreventsealandbearingdamage,
checkthebearingadjustmentoften.Spinthe
castertire.Thetireshouldnotspinfreely(more
than1or2revolutions)orhaveanysideplay.If
thewheelspinsfreely,adjustthetorqueonthe
spacernutuntilthereisaslightamountofdrag.
Applythreadlockingadhesive.
