AdjustingtheControl
HandlePosition
Thereare2heightpositionsforthecontrollevers:
highandlow.Removetheboltstoadjusttheheight
fortheoperator.
1.DisengagethePTO,movethemotion-control
leverstotheneutral-lockedposition,andsetthe
parkingbrake.
2.Stoptheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
3.Loosentheboltsandangenutsinstalledinthe
levers(Figure86).
4.Alignthefront-to-rearpositionofthelevers
bybringingtheleverstogethertotheneutral
positionandslidingthemuntiltheyarealigned;
thentightenthebolts(Figure87).

Adjustingthe
Motion-ControlLinkage
Locatedoneithersideofthefueltank,belowtheseat
arethepumpcontrollinkages.Rotatingthepump
linkagewitha1/2inchwrenchallowsnetuning
adjustmentssothatthemachinedoesnotmovein
neutral.Anyadjustmentsshouldbemadeforneutral
positioningonly.
WARNING
Theenginemustberunningandthedrive
wheelsmustbeturningsothatthemotion
controladjustmentcanbeperformed.Contact
withmovingpartsorhotsurfacesmaycause
personalinjury.
Keepngers,hands,andclothingclearof
rotatingcomponentsandhotsurfaces.
1.Priortostartingtheengine,pushthedecklift
pedal,removetheheight-of-cutpin,andlower
thedecktotheground.
2.Raisetherearofthemachineupandsupportit
withjackstands(orequivalentsupport)justhigh
enoughtoallowthedrivewheelstoturnfreely.
3.Removetheelectricalconnectionfromtheseat
safetyswitch,locatedunderthebottomcushion
oftheseat.
Note:Theswitchisapartoftheseatassembly.
4.Temporarilyinstallajumperwireacrossthe
terminalsintheconnectorofthemainwiring
harness.
