RemovingtheClutchShim
1.Stoptheengine,waitforallmovingpartsto
stop,andremovethekey.Engagetheparking
brake.Allowthemachinetocoolcompletely
beforestartingtheseinstructions.
2.Usinganaircompressor,blowoutanydebris
fromunderthebrakepoleandaroundthebrake
spacers.

3.Checktheconditionofthewireharnessleads,
connectors,andterminals.Cleanorrepairas
necessary.
4.Verifythat12Vispresentattheclutchconnector
whenthePTOswitchisengaged.
5.Measurethegapbetweentherotorandthe
armature.Ifthegapisgreaterthan1mm(0.04
inch),proceedwiththefollowingsteps:
A.Loosenbothbrakemountingboltsone-half
toonefullturnasshownbelow.
Note:Donotremovethebrakepolefrom
theeldshell/armature.Thebrakepolehas
worntomatchthearmatureandneedsto
continuetomatchaftertheshimisremoved
toensureproperbraketorque.
