SafeHandlingofFuels
•Toavoidpersonalinjuryorpropertydamage,use
extremecareinhandlinggasoline.Gasolineis
extremelyammableandthevaporsareexplosive.
•Extinguishallcigarettes,cigars,pipes,andother
sourcesofignition.
•Useonlyanapprovedfuelcontainer.
•Neverremovefuelcaporaddfuelwiththeengine
running.
•Allowenginetocoolbeforerefueling.
•Neverrefuelthemachineindoors.
•Neverstorethemachineorfuelcontainerwhere
thereisanopename,spark,orpilotlightsuchas
onawaterheateroronotherappliances.
•Neverllcontainersinsideavehicleoronatruck
ortrailerbedwithaplasticliner.Alwaysplace
containersonthegroundawayfromyourvehicle
beforelling.
•Removeequipmentfromthetruckortrailerand
refuelitontheground.Ifthisisnotpossible,then
refuelsuchequipmentwithaportablecontainer,
ratherthanfromafueldispensernozzle.
•Keepthenozzleincontactwiththerimofthefuel
tankorcontaineropeningatalltimesuntilfueling
iscomplete.
•Donotuseanozzlelockopendevice.
•Iffuelisspilledonclothing,changeclothing
immediately.
•Neveroverllfueltank.Replacefuelcapand
tightensecurely.
MaintenanceandStorage
•Disengagedrives,settheparkingbrake,stop
theengineandremovethekeyordisconnect
thespark-plugwire.Waitforallmovementto
stopbeforeadjusting,cleaningorrepairingthe
machine.
•Cleangrassanddebrisfromthecuttingunit,the
drives,themufers,andtheenginetohelpprevent
res.Cleanupoilorfuelspillage.
•Lettheenginecoolbeforestoringanddonotstore
nearame.
•Shutoffthefuelwhilestoringortransporting.Do
notstorefuelnearamesordrainindoors.
•Parkthemachineonlevelground.Settheparking
brake.Neverallowuntrainedpersonneltoservice
themachine.
•Usejackstandstosupportcomponentswhen
required.
•Carefullyreleasepressurefromcomponentswith
storedenergy.
•Disconnectthebatteryorthespark-plugwire
beforemakinganyrepairs.Disconnectthe
negativeterminalrstandthepositivelast.
Connectthepositiverstandnegativelast.
