ThechargeindicatorlightshouldcomeonwhenthekeyswitchisintheON
positionwiththeenginenotrunning.Also,itshouldilluminatewithanimproperly
operatingchargingcircuitwhiletheengineisrunning.
EngineOilPressureLight
TheengineoilpressurelightshouldcomeonwhenthekeyswitchisintheON
positionwiththeenginenotrunning.Also,itshouldilluminatewiththeengine
runningiftheengineoilpressuredropstoanunsafelevel.
IMPORTANT
Iftheoilpressureindicatorlightisilluminatedwiththeengine
running,shutofftheengineimmediately.
Totesttheoilpressurelightandcircuitwiring,groundthewireattachedtooil
pressureswitchlocatedontheengineneartheoillter.Turnthekeyswitchto
theONposition;theengineoilpressurelightshouldcomeonindicatingcorrect
operationoftheindicatorlightandcircuitwiring.
HighTemperatureWarningLight
Iftheenginecoolanttemperaturereaches105°C(221°F)(approximate),thehigh
temperaturewarninglightshouldcomeon.
Totestthehightemperaturewarninglightandcircuitwiring,turnthekeyswitchto
theONpositionandgroundtheyellowwireattachedtohightemperaturewarning
switchlocatedontheenginewaterpumphousing;refertoHighT emperature
WarningSwitch(page6–52).Theindicatorlightshouldilluminate.
