1.RemovethePTOdriveshaftfromthemachine;refertoRemovingthePTO
Driveshaft(page9–5).
2.Removethesnapringsthatsecurethebearingsintheyokes.
IMPORTANT
Supporttheyokeswhenremovingandinstallingthebearingsto
preventdamage.
3.Useapresstoremovethecrossandbearingsfromtheyokes.Cleanthe
driveshaftyokes.
4.Installnewcrossandbearingsasfollows:
A.Applyathicklayerofgreasetothebearingboresintheendyokeand
shaftyoke.
B.Press1bearingpartiallyintotheyoke.
C.Insertthecrossintotheyokeandbearing.
D.Holdthecrossinalignmentandpressthebearinginuntilithitstheyoke.
E.Installthesnapringintotheyokegroovetosecureinstalledbearing.
F.Placesecondbearingintotheyokeboreandontothecrossshaft.Press
thebearingintotheyokeandsecurewiththesnapring.
G.Repeattheprocedurefortheotheryoke.
H.Applygreasetothecrossuntilitcomesoutofallthe4bearingcups.
5.Ensurethattheassembledjointmoveswithoutanybinding.Lightlyrapthe
yokelugswithasoft-facedhammertoremoveslightbinding.Ifbinding
continues,disassemblethejointtoidentifythesourceofbinding.
6.Installthedriveshafttothemachine;refertoInstallingthePTODriveshaft
(page9–5).
