Thetractionneutralswitchisanormallyopenproximityswitchthatcloseswhen
thetractionpedalisintheneutralposition.Asocket-headscrewthreadedintothe
hydrostatneutralreturnarmactsasthesensingplatefortheswitch(Figure146).
TheStandardControlModulemonitorstheoperationofthetractionneutral
switch.IfthekeyswitchisintheONpositionandthetractionpedalisinthe
neutralposition,theSCMneutralinputLEDshouldbeilluminated.
TestingtheTractionNeutralSwitch
1.Parkmachineonalevelsurface,lowercuttingdeck(orimplement),shutoff
theengine,engageparkingbrake,andremovekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Disconnecttheelectricalconnectorfromthetractionneutralswitch.
3.Checkthecontinuityoftheswitchbyconnectingamultimeter(ohmssetting)
acrosstheconnectorterminals.
4.WiththekeyswitchintheOFFposition,slowlypushthetractionpedalin
theforwardandreversedirectionwhilewatchingthemultimeter.Continuity
shouldbebrokeninboththeforwardandreversedirections.
5.Allowthetractionpedaltoreturntotheneutralposition.Thereshouldbe
continuityacrosstheterminals.
6.Connectelectricalconnectortothetractionneutralswitch.
AdjustingtheTractionNeutralSwitch
1.Beforeadjustingthetractionneutralswitch,checkandadjusttractionsystem
neutralposition;refertotheTractionUnitOperator’sManual.
IMPORTANT
Topreventtractionneutralswitchdamage,ensurethatendof
socket-headscrewdoesnotcontactswitch.
2.Loosenjamnutonsocket-headscrew.
