A.Loosenclampsanddisconnectupperandlowerradiatorhosesfrom
theengine.
B.Atcarburetor,loosenhoseclampanddisconnectfuelhose.Plughoseto
preventleakageandcontamination.
13.Disconnecttransmissiondriveshaftfromenginepulley;refertoRemovingthe
TransmissionDriveshaft(page5–87).
14.Removecotterpinandclevispinthatsecurehoodcabletomuferbracket
onrearofengine.Supporthoodintheopenposition.
15.Disconnectwireharnessconnectorsfromthefollowingenginecomponents:

A.Alternatorconnectorandstud.
B.Hightemperatureshutdownswitchandtemperaturesenderlocatedon
thewaterpumphousing.
C.Fuelsolenoidoncarburetor.
D.Oilpressureswitchlocatedneartheengineoildipstick.
E.Ignitioncoilslocatedontherightsideoftheengine.
F.Connector,fusiblelinkconnector,andpositivebatterycablefromthe
startermotor.
G.Wireharnessgroundwirefromthemuferbracket.
H.PTOclutchwireconnector.
I.Crankpositionwireconnector.
16.Removeenginefrommachine:
A.Attachshortsectionofchainbetweenlifttabslocatedoneachendof
thecylinderhead.
B.Connectahoistorchainfallatthecenteroftheshortsectionofchain.
Applyenoughtensionontheshortchainsothattheenginewillbe
supported.
C.Removefastenersthatsecuretheengine(withbrackets)totheengine
shockmountsandenginemountbrackets.
CAUTION
Onepersonshouldoperateliftorhoistwhiletheotherperson
guidestheengineoutofthemachine.
IMPORTANT
Ensurenottodamagetheengine,fuelhoses,hydrauliclines,
electricalharness,orotherpartswhileremovingtheengine.
