Dischargeofhot,pressurizedcoolantortouching
ahotradiatorandsurroundingpartscancause

Alwaysallowtheenginetocoolatleast15
minutesbeforeremovingtheradiatorcap.
Usearagwhenopeningtheradiatorcap,and
openthecapslowlytoallowsteamtoescape.
Donotoperatethemachinewithoutthecovers
inplace.
Keepyourngers,handsandclothingclearof
rotatingfananddrivebelt.
Shutofftheengineandremovethekeybefore
performingmaintenance.
CheckingtheCooling
System
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Checkthecoolantlevelatthebeginningofeachday.
Thecapacityofthesystemis8.5L(9USqt).
1.Carefullyremovetheradiatorcapand
expansion-tankcap(Figure110).
2.Checkthecoolantlevelintheradiator.
Note:Theradiatorshouldbelledtothetop
ofthellerneckandtheexpansiontanklled
totheFullmark.

andethyleneglycolanti-freeze.

Removedebrisfromtheoilradiator/oilcooler
daily.Cleanthemmorefrequentlyindirtyconditions.
Thismachineisequippedwithahydraulically-driven
fandrivesystemthatautomatically(ormanually)
reversestoreducetheradiator/oilcoolerandscreen
debrisbuildup.Whilethisfeaturecanhelpreduce
thetimerequiredtocleanradiator/oilcooler,itdoes
noteliminatetheneedforroutinecleaning.Periodic
cleaningandinspectionoftheradiator/oilcooleris
stillrequired.
1.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andraise
thehood.
2.Cleantheengineareathoroughlyofalldebris.
3.Cleanbothsidesoftheradiator/oilcoolerarea
thoroughlywithcompressedair(Figure111).
Note:Startfromthefansideandblowthe
debrisouttowardtheback.Then,cleanfrom
thebacksideandblowtowardthefront.Repeat
thisprocedureseveraltimesuntilallchaffand
debrisisremoved.
Important:Cleaningtheradiator/oilcooler
withwatercanpromoteprematurecorrosion
anddamagetocomponents.
