Pre-MaintenanceSafety
•Beforeadjusting,cleaning,repairing,orleavingthe
machine,dothefollowing:
–Parkthemachineonalevelsurface.
–Movethethrottleswitchtothelow-idleposition.
–Disengagethecuttingunits.
–Lowerthecuttingunits.
–Ensurethatthetractionisinneutral.
–Engagetheparkingbrake.
–Shutofftheengineandremovethekey.
–Waitforallmovingpartstostop.
–Allowmachinecomponentstocoolbefore
performingmaintenance.
•Ifthecuttingunitsareinthetransportposition,usethe
positivemechanicallock(ifavailable)beforeyouleavethe
machineunattended.
•Ifpossible,donotperformmaintenancewhiletheengine
isrunning.Keepawayfrommovingparts.
•Usejackstandstosupportthemachineorcomponents
whenrequired.
•Carefullyreleasepressurefromcomponentswithstored
energy.
RemovingtheHood
Thehoodmaybeeasilyremovedtoeasemaintenance
proceduresintheengineareaofthemachine.
1.Unlatchandraisethehood.
2.Removethehairpincottersecuringthehoodpivotto
themountingbrackets(Figure42).
