CuttingUnitSafety
Awornordamagedcuttingunitcanbreak,andapieceof
areelorbedknifecouldbethrownatyouorbystanders,
resultinginseriouspersonalinjuryordeath.
•Inspectthecuttingunitsperiodicallyforwearordamage.
•Usecarewhencheckingthecuttingunits.Wrapthe
bladesorweargloves,andusecautionwhenservicingthe
reelsandbedknives.Onlyreplaceorsharpenthereels
andbedknives;neverstraightenorweldthem.
•Onmulti-bladedmachines,takecareasrotating1reelcan
causeotherbladestorotate.

1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecutting
units,engagetheparkingbrake,shutofftheengine,
andmovetheEnable/DisableswitchtotheDISABLE
position.
2.Raisetheoorpaneltoexposethecontrols.
3.Maketheinitialreel-to-bedknifeadjustments
appropriateforbacklapping;refertothecuttingunit
Operator'sManual.
4.Starttheengineandallowittorunatlowidlespeed.
