Procedure
Theturfcompensationspring(Figure14)transfers
weightfromthefronttotherearroller.Thishelps
toreduceawavepatternintheturf,alsoknownas
marcellingorbobbing.
Important:Makespringadjustmentswiththe
cuttingunitmountedtothetractionunit.
1.Alignthemachinestraightahead,andengage
theparkingbrake.
2.Pressthecuttingunitdriveswitchtothe
DISENGAGEposition.
3.Movethemow/transportslidetotheMOW
position.
4.Starttheengine,andpushthelowermow/raise
leverforwardtolowerthecuttingunitstothe
shopoor.
5.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwaitfor
allmovingpartstostop.
6.Makesurethatthehairpincotterisinstalledin
therearholeinthespringrod(Figure14).

spring(Figure14)is12.7cm(5inches)for

Note:Whenoperatingonroughterrain,
decreasethespringlengthby2.5cm(1/2inch).
Whenyoudecreasespringlength,thecutting
unitfollowsthegroundlessclosely.
