Starting Problems (continued)
Problem Possible Causes
Engine cranks, but does not start. Wiring to interlock components is loose, corroded or
damaged (see Circuit Diagrams in Chapter 7 –
Electrical Diagrams).
Diode D2 is faulty.
Interlock relay is faulty.
Engine is out of fuel or may be too cold.
Ignition switch is faulty.
Engine fuel solenoid is faulty.
Spark plugs are faulty.
Engine or fuel system is malfunctioning (see Chapter 3
– Gasoline Engine).
Engine cranks slowly. Battery is discharged or faulty.
Battery cables are loose or corroded.
Engine is too cold.
General Run Problems
Problem Possible Causes
Engine stops when traction pedal is pressed. Operator seat is not occupied.
Diode D1 is faulty.
Seat switch is faulty.
Wiring to interlock components is loose, corroded or
