Cleaning the Cooling
System
1. Park the machine on a level surface, disengage
the blade-control switch, and move the
motion-control levers outward to the P ARK
position.
2. Shut of f the engine, remove the key , and wait
for all moving parts to stop before leaving the
operating position.
3. Remove the air lter from the engine.
4. Remove the engine shroud.
5. T o prevent debris entering the air intake, install
the air lter to the lter base.
6. Clean debris and grass from the parts.
7. Remove the air lter and install the engine
shroud.
8. Install the air lter .

explosion from fuel can burn you and others
and can damage property .
Refer to Fuel Safety ( page 13 ) for a complete
list of fuel related precautions.
Replacing the In-Line Fuel
Filter
Service Interval : Y early —Replace the in-line fuel
lter .
Never install a dirty lter after removing it from the
fuel line.
1. Park the machine on a level surface, disengage
the blade-control switch, and move the
motion-control levers outward to the P ARK
position.
2. Shut of f the engine, remove the key , and wait
for all moving parts to stop before leaving the
operating position. Allow the engine to cool.
3. Replace the lter ( Figure 41 ).
Note: Ensure that the ow-direction arrow on
the replacement lter points toward the engine.
