Starting the Engine
Note: A warm or hot engine may not require choking.
Important: Do not engage the starter for more
than 5 seconds at a time. Engaging the starter
motor for more than 5 seconds can damage the
starter motor . If the engine fails to start, wait 1
minute before operating the engine starter again.

Shutting Off the Engine
1. Disengage the blades by moving the
blade-control switch to the O FF position.
2. Move the motion-control levers outward to the
P ARK position.
3. Move the throttle lever to the S LOW position and
let the engine idle for 1 minute.
4. T urn the key to the O FF position and remove
the key .
CAUTION
Children or bystanders may be injured if they
move or attempt to operate the machine while
it is unattended.
Always remove the key and engage the
parking brake when leaving the machine
unattended.
