8.Runthemachineagainandengagethebladesfor1to3
minutestoremovetheexcesswater.

Abrokenormissingwashoutttingcouldexpose
youandotherstothrownobjectsorbladecontact.
Contactwithabladeorthrowndebriscancause
injuryordeath.
•Replaceabrokenormissingwashouttting
immediately,beforeusingthemachineagain.
•Neverputyourhandsorfeetunderthemachine
orthroughopeningsinthemachine.

2.Cleanunderthemachinehousing;referto
CleaningundertheMachineHousing(page22).
3.Removechaff,dirt,andgrimefromtheexternalparts
oftheengine,theshrouding,andthetopofthe
machine.
4.Checktheconditionoftheblades;referto
InspectingtheBlades(page20).
5.Servicetheairlter;referto
ServicingtheAirFilter(page16).
6.Tightenallnuts,bolts,andscrews.
7.Touchupallrustedorchippedpaintsurfaceswith
paintavailablefromanAuthorizedServiceDealer.
8.Chargethebatteryfor24hours,thenunplugthe
batterychargerandstorethemachineinanunheated
area.Ifyoumuststorethemachineinaheatedarea,
youmustchargethebatteryevery90days(electric-start
modelonly).
9.Foldthehandleforstorage;referto
AdjustingtheHandleHeight(page10).
PreparingtheFuelSystem
WARNING
Gasolinecanvaporizeifyoustoreitoverlong
periodsoftimeandexplodeifitcomesintocontact
withanopename.
•Donotstoregasolineoverlongperiodsoftime.
•Donotstorethemachinewithgasolineinthe
fueltankorthecarburetorinanenclosurewith
anopename.(Forexample,afurnaceora
waterheaterpilotlight.)
•Allowtheenginetocoolbeforestoringitinany
enclosure.
Onthelastrefuelingoftheyear,addfuelstabilizertothefuel
asdirectedbytheenginemanufacturer.Emptythefueltank
whenmowingthelasttimebeforestoringthemachine.
1.Runthemachineuntiltheenginestopsfromrunning
outoffuel.
2.Starttheengineagain.
3.Allowtheenginetorununtilitstops.Whenyoucan
nolongerstarttheengine,itissufcientlydry.
