1.Ensurethatthecargoboxisdownandlatched.
2.Liftuponthengerpullsatthebackpanelofthetail

ClosingtheTailgate
Ifyouunloadedloosematerialsuchassand,landscapingrock,
orwoodchipsfromthecargoboxofthemachine,somethe
materialthatyouunloadedmayhavelodgedinthehinge
areaofthetailgate.Performthefollowingbeforeclosingthe
tailgate.
1.Useyourhandstoremoveasmuchofthematerial
fromthehingeareaaspossible.
2.Rotatethetailgatetoapproximately45°position
(Figure12).

andforthseveraltimes(Figure12).

4.Lowerthetailgateandcheckformaterialremainingin
thehingearea.

6.Rotatethetailgateupandforwarduntilthelockanges
ofthetailgateareushwiththetailgatepocketinthe
cargobox(Figure11).
Note:Raiseorlowerthetailgateinordertoalignthe
lockangesofthetailgatewiththeverticalopenings
betweenthetailgateangesofthecargobox.
7.Lowerthetailgateuntilitisseatedinthebackofthe
cargobox(Figure11).
Note:Thelockangesofthetailgatewillbefully
securedbythetailgateangesofthecargobox.

•Checkbrakeuidlevels,andaddthespeciedbrake
uidsasneeded;refertoCheckingtheBrakeFluidLevel

•Checkengineoil,andaddthespeciedoilasneeded;
refertoCheckingtheEngine-OilLevel(Models07273
and07273TC)(page20).
•Checktheairpressureinthetires;refertoCheckingthe
TireAirPressure(page21).
•Checkthebrakepedaloperation.
•Checktoseethatthelightsareworking.
•Turnthesteeringwheeltotheleftandrighttocheck
steeringresponse.
•Checkforoilleaks,looseparts,andanyothernoticeable
malfunctions.
