withallsafetycomponents,theyshouldbecloselyinspectedat
regularintervalstoensureoptimumperformanceandsafety.
•Inspectthebrakeshoesforwearordamage.Ifthelining
(brakepad)thicknessislessthan1.6mm(1/16inch),the
brakeshoesshouldbereplaced.
•Inspectthebackingplateandothercomponentsforsigns
ofexcessivewearordeformation.Ifanydeformationis
found,theappropriatecomponentsmustbereplaced.
•Checkthebrakeuidlevel;refertoCheckingtheBrake
FluidLevel(page19).

1.Prytherubbercoverofftheparkingbrake.
2.Loosenthesetscrewsecuringtheknobtothe
parking-brakelever(Figure54).
