CheckingtheAirFilter
1.Raisethecargoboxandsecureitwiththeproprod;
refertoRaisingtheCargoBox(page17).
2.Checktheaircleanerbodyfordamagewhichcould
possiblycauseanairleak.Ensurethecoverissealing
aroundtheaircleanerbody(Figure28andFigure29).
Note:Replaceadamagedaircleanercoverorhousing.

3.Releasethelatchessecuringtheair-ltercovertothe
air-lterhousing(Figure29).
4.Separatetheair-ltercoverfromtheair-lterhousing,
andcleantheinsideofthecover(Figure29).
5.Gentlyslidetheair-lterelementoutofthelter
housing.
Note:Toreducetheamountofdustdislodged,avoid
knockingthelteragainsttheair-lterhousing.
6.Inspecttheair-lterelement.
•Iftheair-lterelementisclean,installthelter
element,refertoInstallingtheAirFilter(page29).
•Iftheair-lterelementisdamaged,replacethelter
element;refertoReplacingtheAirFilter(page29).
ReplacingtheAirFilter
1.Removetheair-lterelement;referto.
2.Inspectthenewlterforshippingdamage.
Note:Checkthesealingendofthelter.
Important:Donotinstalladamagedlter.
3.Installthenewairlter;refertoInstallingtheAirFilter
(page29).
InstallingtheAirFilter
Important:Topreventenginedamage,alwaysoperate
theenginewiththecompleteaircleanerassembly
installed.
Important:Donotuseadamagedelement.
Note:Cleaningoftheusedair-lterelementisnot
recommendedduetothepossibilityofdamagetothelter
media.
1.Cleanthedirtejectionportlocatedontheair-lter
cover.
2.Removetherubberoutletvalvefromthecover,clean
thecavity,andreplacetheoutletvalve.
