5-2. Emergency measures
1NZ-FE engine-equipped vehicle
Remove the cover of the + terminal of the battery and connect the booster cable in the
following order.
Connect the red booster cable to the + terminal of your car's battery
Connect the other end of the red booster cable to the + terminal of the rescue
vehicle battery
Connect the black booster cable to the negative terminal of the rescue vehicle
battery

Connect the other end of the black booster cable to an unpainted
metal part (fixed part as shown) away from the battery.

Start the rescue vehicle engine, increase the rotation a little, and charge the
vehicle's battery for about 5 minutes.
For vehicles equipped with the smart entry & start system, open
or close one of the doors with the "engine start / stop" switch
turned off.
