Source Setup
(Example: Integrating a
DVD 1210 R
)
Notes on wiring and assigning sources:
Connect the analogue stereo output of the DVD
player directly to the pre-amplifier input
AUX 1
.
Connect the picture signal to the decoder’s
DVD
socket using a SCART lead.
Connect the sound signal to the decoder’s digital
input
DIG 1
using a digital lead.
Complete the
R
LINK
connections.
Move the switch marked
R
LINK
ADDR
on the back
panel of the DVD player to the
AUX
position.
Make the following settings in the
'
Source Setup
'
:
1st column:
Enter the name by which the source
device is to be displayed on the de-
coder’s screen when you select it;
select
DVD
.
2nd column:
The picture signal from the DVD
player is passed to the decoder via
the
DVD
-SCART socket; set
DVD
.
3rd column
: The sound signal from the DVD
player is passed to the decoder via
the digital input
DIG 1;
set
DIG 1
.
4th column:
Assign the source button
AUX 1
to
the DVD player. This means that you
can select the machine in surround
mode by pressing the source button

on the remote
control handset.
When you have completed the assigning process in
the '
Source Setup
' as outlined above, the system
works as follows in normal daily usage:
In
stereo mode
pressing the source button

selects the DVD player as current
stereo
source device
for playing CDs.
A brief press on the
button on the remote
control handset, or the

button on the de-
coder, switches the system to
surround mode
. The
decoder input
DVD
becomes the current
listening
and viewing source for surround mode
. You can
now play a DVD in surround mode.
Source selection
- If you repeatedly press the
button on the
remote control handset (or the

button on
the front panel), you can select all the decoder’s
inputs in turn. In each case the name of the
source device is displayed on the screen.
- Pressing the remote control source button

selects the DVD player directly, and
the source device name

screen.
If you wish to switch the system back to stereo mode,
briefly press the
